You are one of those amazing shining students teachers just love to have in their class:) You have put everything you learned in the sessions to use, you did your homework and now you see the results. But more important than page one on google is that you have a funnel of buyers and sellers who found you online and this transformed your business and your life. You have grown personally and spiritually also. Thank you for being my friend. Lots of hugs!
Today 9/1/2010 is another great celebration day for me. Today, I found that my website, www.Frisco-TX-Homes.com is finally on the 1st PAGE of GOOGLE. What a prouder moment is that I did it ALL by myself, without the help of any "Google" companies (can you imagine that???)
This process began in April 2009 when I decided that a new website was due. I hired my web design company to do a complete custom site, one like none other, especially in the Frisco TX area. At the same time, I signed up for Katerina Gasset's SEO to the TOP webinar. It was a great 9-week class and I learnt ALOT!
I would say that my knowledge about SEO was good prior to Katerina Gasset's class due to all the GREAT POST about SEO that I read on here. My first ever SEO teacher was the late Ms. Karen George but I didn't really get to know her like I do Katerina. During the SEO class, I hired Katerina Gasset for more in-depth and private SEO strategy session. During the private coaching session, I changed my target keywords and had a much better plan of attack.
Everyday since then, I worked a little on my website EVERYDAY while still focusing on AR to drive the traffic over. For the past 4-6 months or so, my website has been able to generate new leads by itself and with my content, I'm able to keep the readers coming back.
I specifically designed my website to be a News Portal for Local Frisco TX real estate news. I capitalized on fresh content very regularly. Any Internet buyer or seller will eventually stumble upon my site via various keywords, but this time, it became much easier, I'm on page 1. I was on Page 1 before with my old site, but I wanted a baby project.
When I started the website and Katerina Gasset's SEO to the Top class, I was at Page 26 of Google. Slowly but surely, I'm #8 now. It only took 1 month to show up at the Top Spot on Yahoo and Bing by the time I did my homework from Katerina's class.
Well, this is a glory moment for me. So, let me enjoy it. It's really hardwork that I put in everyday. 2 other people that had direct impact on my success is Bill Gassett and Lenn Harley. They took time to give me some tips.
Want to know the biggest secret on how to show up on Page 1 of Google?
I did everything Katerina Gasset taught in her SEO class. I studied and read many helpful articles here in the 'Rain. I asked Bill Gassett, Lenn Harley and Katerina for their expertise.
Know that I'm not an SEO Expert. But I think the biggest secret is TIME.
Time is what we dont have patience for.
I trust no other enough about SEO that I would entertain any Google Top Spots telemarketing calls. I learn what I know, I apply what I learnt. But ultimately, it's the TIME FACTOR that we need to let the website get seasoned.
Do You Know I Celebrate?
It first started of as a mighty challenge. I interviewed a reputable company on SEO services and it would have me $2,000 per month. But knowing and learning SEO has changed my FAMILY TREE. The knowledge and implementation of this knowledge is so great that I am going to continue to earn from this resource.
I live in a high-tech city where people Google everything. Life has been awesome but it's going to be even better.
Disclosure: This post is written for giving credit where credit is due. Katerina Gasset did not ask, neither did she pay me to write this. But one thing you should know, anyone who ask me about getting some Rain and Google love, thius far, I cannot find a place where I could learn so much of SEO strategies that produce fruits! I have sent lots of people to Katerina's class and I continue to endorse it because I believe it works.
Listen to Frank Sinatra's I Did it My Way..... It really describe how I feel today!!!!
This is yet another reason why I love Photobucket!
Before we get all into the educational posts we wanted to share a couple of fun ones first.
The photo editor in Photobucket is innovative and they keep adding new features to jazz up your photos.
This newest tool is right off of the Photobucket blog press- "Colorsplash"
You can take an image you own and upload it to your free account in Photobucket.
In Photobucket you can then click edit and choose the new COLORSPLASH tab.
The Colorsplash tool turns your image into a black and white image. From there you take the brush- and color in the parts of the image that you want to color leaving the rest of the image in black and white.
Check out what I just did in about 3 minutes on Photobucket with this beautiful Orchid.

ActiveRain=Website Visits... Check Out The Google Analytics For My Website!
I've always wondered how many visits I get as a direct result of my blogging on ActiveRain. Well, today I decided to find out (in all my spare time).
First, a little history. We started Summit Home Consultants in January/2009, and launched our website in April/2009. Soon after that, I wrote my first blog. It's funny to go back and read it today, and amazing to see how much I've learned in such a short period of time.
Today, 18 months and 88 blogs later, I decided to see how many website visits I could attribute to my blogging efforts on ActiveRain. Needless to say, I was astounded by the results....
I apologize for the "fuzziness" of the picture. This is a snapshot of my Google Analytics Page. The date range is from 4/1/09-8/19/10.
As you can see, my website had a total of 7,187 visits, and ActiveRain accounted for 1,842 of them. I had more visitors come from my blogs on ActiveRain than both "direct" or organic Google searches. Obviously, I need to improve my organic search numbers (and Katerina Gasset is helping me to do just that, as we speak).
So, at the end of the day, my blogging on ActiveRain represented approximately 26% of the visitors to my website. There were 185 different referral sources, and one of them (ActiveRain) represents about 1/4 of my total visits.
Pretty impressive huh? And to think what the numbers would have been, had I written on a more consistent basis!
So, the next time you read a blog from someone, saying they've posted on ActiveRain and haven't seen any results, perhaps you should point them to this post? The proof is in the pudding!
I can't wait to see everyone in Prescott! Lord knows I still have a lot to learn! Keep blogging!
After having three conversations today with different people from different backgrounds I pondered about how far have we strayed here in America from the concept of good honest work. I felt compelled to write my thoughts about those conversations for they are really tugging at me to get out and into words.
One person I spoke with is an immigrant from Romania who moved here to escape Communism. This person lived under communism and is extremely concerned about the apathy permeating our society and more about the "give me a hand-out syndrome" that has infected our country.
When people would rather go and take a day to demonstrate their desire for more benefits because they are unemployed than to spend that time and effort looking for work- it baffles my mind. I have always been self employed so I will never ever be a recipient of unemployment checks from an employer or a government. I guess I just "don't get it".
When people, more than 40,000 of them will take a whole day in the heat of the Atlanta sun just for the small tiny chance to get put on a waiting list for section 8 housing- and there are only going to be a little over 400 homes available during the next 3 years- it had me in a stupor. How far have we come from pioneer families building their own homes through the labor of their own hands to where a house is expected to be just "given" to them!
I then thought about the people in Greece who are so used to the government taking care of them that they totally freaked out when their handouts were going to be cut. Like, how about going to work? How about making your way in life?
The energy that it takes to stand there permeating the negative could be used for positive action which will empower positive results. What ever happened to the goals of being able to sustain oneself and his or her family? Self sufficiency is freedom. Self sufficiency raises self confidence and creates the mindset to be able to accomplish great things. Dependence on the government for one's paychecks, food or housing created serfdom. In searching for the hand out with an expectation that it is owed to you creates a bondage that is all consuming and never ending. It sucks the passion right out of people. It does not help, in fact, it hurts people way more than we even know.
I have been running into many people who are unemployed and then when I ask them, what are you doing to get employed, they say that they don't want to work because they make more money being unemployed than getting a lower paying job. I have talked to business owners who say that people will come in and tell them they are only there to get an application filled out so they can keep getting unemployment and have no intention of getting hired there.
But I will make an observation- I don't see immigrants to this country complaining about not getting unemployment benefits. In fact, I see and know many immigrants who work more than two jobs. They work and work and work. They are SO happy that there is work. I don't hear them complain that they are working. It sure beats standing in bread lines!
I learned that you do what you got to do. You sacrifice, you make your own way in life. You do what it takes to arrive where it is you want to end up. Sure, things get tough. That is what molds character.
Just ask my friend from Romania. He can tell you all about what happened when people depended on the government in Romania. Just ask my mother. She can tell you all about what happened in Latvia when Stalin came to power. Just ask Nestor or his father, they can tell you all about what happened in Cuba.

The US Department of Treasury has another government help program for homeowners who are underwater. We can be sure of one thing, what ever the program says it is going to do, rarely does.
We learned from the HAMP program that it never even touched the total number of projected homeowners it was supposed to help. HAMP is the government Home Affordable Loan Modification Program.
That was another program that was going to help hundreds of thousands of homeowners but of course did not apply to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. So they threw the lenders a few bones to get them motivated to put homeowners into the HAFA program for their short sales and deed in lieus.
Well, I think we all know how these two programs are working out.
Neither of these programs are working out well for the millions of homeowners who are underwater on their homes and who are in foreclosure.
The states hardest hit by the housing crash are also the states with the highest underwater mortgages so rarely do any of these programs help.
So what is the next best step? Throw more money at the problem and ignoring the disease.
The US Department of Treasury program is like a last ditch effort to attempt to fly in as Superman and save the day for thousands and thousands of homeowners who are about to lose their homes.
Here is an overview of the bail out program:
There are two programs- Hardest Hit Fund and HUD Emergency Homeowners Loan Program
The Hardest Hit Program gives Federal Money ( that they don't have) to States hardest hit with unemployment. This money is set help assist non profit community organizations to help provide assistance to save the homes of homeowners who are unemployed until they find employment.
The HUD Emergency Homeowners Loan Program will be giving out bridge loans to homeowners in hardest hit areas and these loans will be distributed by state and local non profit groups.
The loans offer a declining balance, they are zero interest loans and the maximum loan will be $50,000 to help the homeowner make their mortgage payments, interest, mortgage insurance, taxes and hazard insurance payments for up to 24 months. This is a bridge loan.
Homeowners must be at least 3 months behind on their payments and have a "reasonable likelihood" of being able to continue their payments within 2 years.
The homeowners must have a mortgage on their principle residence, their primary home.
Homeowners may not own more than one home.
They must be able to show that before they were unemployed or whatever the emergency that they were making their payments.
The targeted areas will be announced shortly.
Now here is the good stuff. Remember always the new golden rule- If you work your butt off to pay your mortgage payment on time, to heck with you. If you work 3 or 4 jobs to keep current on your mortgage payments- you are not worth helping. If you follow the rules, they don't have to.
Again, as with HAMP and HAFA and the lack of success with those programs, I will say,
