This cute little hideaway is nestled right off of South Federal Highway and a stone's throw from East Ocean Avenue. From there you just go over the Intracoastal bridge and you are at the beach. This beach is called Boynton Oceanfront Park and it is our favorite beach in Palm Beach county. We love to go to the beach, one of the great things about living is south Florida.

You would not know it was there unless you are looking for this cluster of homes along Florida's Intracoastal waterway. The waterfront community of Boynton Isles consists of 52 private single family homes. Most of them are right on the fingers of the Intracoastal Waterway of South Florida.
Currently there are only 4 properties for sale in Boynton Isles. There are no foreclosures in this neighborhood and no filings at this time.
We have a waterfront home for sale with a swimming pool overlooking the wide part of the Florida Intracoastal waterway with a private dock. 934 Greenbriar Boynton Beach Florida
There are 3 other properties for sale; one is listed at $675,00, another at $899,000 and the highest priced home is listed at $1,400,000.
Only one property has sold in the last 12 months. It was a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home listed for $649,900 and sold for $550,000.

Those that live in this small quaint waterfront neighborhood like it here and do not move much. After we went to the beach which is really only biking distance away we took a video of Boynton Isles. Nestor drove the car and I stood up through the sun roof to take this video. It may be a bit bumpy because of that but you can get an feel for the area.

It is technically in Ocean Ridge which is a part of Boynton Beach but on the ocean section. This is a town run park so it is not going to show up when you do a search for state or county parks. We kind of like that idea because not just anyone can find it.
Nestor and our son built a sand castle last weekend. Here are the sad remains of their work as the waves wash it away. Our 6 year old son keeps trying to figure out a way to make a castle withstand the waves.
My favorite things about Oceanfront Park is that is had public showers and bathrooms! YEAH! We drive an extra 5 minutes to this beach because of this very important feature! The beach park also has this awesome deck that is cool to walk on that leads all the way to the sand on the beach. Our son love the little snack shack with a variety of ice cream and other snacks. There are picnic tables, grills on the grassy area, pavilions you can rent for parties, sand volleyball and lots of other little features that you will just love.
This is a great time of the year to just go to the beach and enjoy the most wonderful weather we are having right now. These green plants that grow on the beach are called 'Sea Grapes'. They are one of my favorite plants.
This beach is lifeguarded but you still need to pay attention to the flags and the signs alerting you of any dangerous conditions. This time of year you will get some rip currents and man of war have been spotted so watch where you are stepping! The man of war get washed up during low tides and you can easily spot them as you are walking along the beach. Do not let your children play with these even if they are dead.
Each year you will see the turtles building their nests and then you get to watch the babies hatch but please obey all the signs for the protection of these wonderful sea turtles. Their nests will be marked with yellow flags on sticks. It is not nesting time this time of the year.
We have a listing that is in biking or hiking distance from the Boynton Beach Oceanfront beach park. It sets right on the Intracoastal and has its' own dock for your boat. Like does not get better than this! Check out the boater lovers dream home here.
You can buy a decal for parking at the beach parking lot if you are a resident of Boynton Beach or Ocean Ridge for $30 according to the park. You can also get a decal if you are a non resident for $90. You can get a decal at the city hall. If you go to the beach a lot this would be a great idea. The fees to park without a decal are $5 for off season and $10 during season. Also, try to get to the park early because sometimes the parking lot will be full.

This is a fun and great way to learn more about Florida, your environment and nature.
Did you know that toads hop and frogs jump?
My son went to a class held by Green Cay Nature Center. They will come out to your local library and bring some of their cool animals with them for the kids to pet and learn about. This is great for homeschool events. They also offer a program of classes at the center for kids and some for seniors called, Science for Seniors. What a great way to learn about your local environment.
He was able to touch a baby alligator and see him close up and personal! What boy would not just love that experience!
Lizards, the curly tailed ones are not natives to Florida and are not good for our environment. They eat the good lizards. Our good lizards do not eat other lizards. These curly tailed lizards are taking over the environment and you can now see them running around your yards more than the good lizards with the straight tails.
My son learned that the life cycle of a frog is called metamorphosis which means to change the way you look.
Toads are not natives to Florida either. They eat natural things here.
Turtles shells grow with them and they can grow to be 100 years old! That is a long time to a 5 year old, not so long to us, the moms!
And he learned the safety rules for getting close to snakes. Florida does have snakes and a lot of them! The Coral snake is a very poisonous snake and you are to stay away from them. But it is very confusing because the non venomous King Snake looks a lot like the Coral Snake. If red touches yellow than get away! The nature guide told the kids in the nature class to use the visual of a stop light. Yellow means to slow down and red means to stop. So when you see those colors touching that is a poisonous snake. But of course, the best precaution is just to simply stay away from all snakes that may even look to be like a Coral snake.
They have a cool boardwalk with a Cypress Swamp, Emergent Marshes and many Wildlife features and wonderful Exhibits. You will learn the benefits of wetlands and see all kinds of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects and fishes!

The Boardwalk is open daily from sunrise to sunset. The Nature Center is closed on Mondays. They are open during the rest of the week. There are special holiday hours so check on the website for changes to hours.
Visiting the nature center would make for a great family outing.
You can join the Friends of Green Cay Nature Center and adopt an animal or donate money to help feed the animals among other wonderful and beneficial things that you can participate in.
