Jupiter Fall Classic- Pro-Am Surf Contest
The 9th Annual Jupiter Fall Classic Surf Contest is being held this weekend. Sunday November 22 is the finals!
Come on out to the Jupiter Civic Center at Carlin Park on one of the nicest beaches in all of Florida.
We went to Carlin Park in Jupiter Florida today to celebrate our grandson's first birthday.
While we were there, Nestor and I took a walk along the beach taking some great photos when we noticed that there were a lot of surfers in the water.
Then we heard music and more people showing up.
We decided to go and check it out.
That is when we met Mike Bloom the President of the Western Atlantic PRO Surf Series.
Mike gave us an overview of the surf contest event. Mike took time out of his busy day with this event to stop and talk with us about some of the highlights.
There were a lot of surfers and onlookers at this event.
Our son loves to surf so we checked out the Kids Surf camps for next summer!
This will be a great way for him to get some good surfing instruction. I love to watch surfing but you won't see me on a surfboard!
I lived in Hawaii for 5 years and watching surfers surf at North Shore was one of my favorite events.
Kona Brewing Company is one of the main sponsors of this event along with many other companies.
Tomorrow morning, Sunday at 7 a.m. the competition resumes with great surfing talent on display.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there is a FREE Surf Camp for kids hosted and sponsored by the Brandollini Foundation and Blue Water School of Surfing.
There is live music, food and drinks available.
Sunday night starting at 5 p.m. is the awards ceremony and closing party with live music at Guanabanas featuring the Mystic Roots Band.

Katerina,
I guess you are not by the beach. But here it is cooler and I see surfers "dressed" up. The beach was sort of deserted here on Saturda, when we came for our ritual walk on the beach (LOL)
Who knew?
Who knew you really have surfers on the Right Coast?
I didn't know you had waves big enough.
Seriously.
Your beaches make me drool.....
Hi Katerina: Let me get this straight - 5 years in Hawaii and then you left???? Why?
:)
Hi Katerina...Certainly a Localism Post, Here they need wet suites...burr. Great Photos.
Cheers, thanks for Sharing
Jon- We are 12 miles from the beach. We usually go to Palm Beach or Boynton Beach. My daughter lives in Jupiter about 30 miles from us. So that is why we went to Jupiter. It is MUCH warmer down here than where you are. No one was in a wet suit, the girls in bikinis and as you can tell in the photos, it was warm yesterday. So much so in fact, that I suffered heat stroke being out in the heat too long. The water is warm also. It was 90+ yesterday at the Jupiter Beach. Daytona is much cooler than here on down to Miami.
Jim- Yes, we have some good surf here also! Much warmer than the west coast:)
Fred- I remember when I lived in Seattle- I saw a lot of wet suits, in CA too. Here I have seen wet suits in Jacksonville but not down here.
Loreena- Gorgeous beaches!
Matt- I was young. I lived there from age 16 to 21 as a model and actress. Long story- if I knew then what I know now- I would not have left. But then again, I would not have become who I am today without the sum of my experiences and travels. I married a total jerk and he wanted to move back to California. I was young and naive and had a baby at the age of 19. I was married when I had my first baby. He did not want to raise the kids there because of the bad schools there. But then I homeschooled all my kids so that was not an issue, hindsight! Yes, it is paradise and I will retire there. Katerina
Hi Katerina, you had a great day at the beach and great weather! It was rainy on the west coast today. Wish I had been in Jupiter to enjoy the day!
Silvia- Ich spreche Deutsch ein bisschen. :)
I always love looking at pictures of the warm weather! I just got back from a vacation in FT Lauderdale. You guys are lucky to have such great weather year round.
This is so cool! If you had written this just a couple of days earlier it would have certainly been in my recent post of the featured posts from the Things to Do/Places to Visit group. You packed a lot of information into this post, and got some great pictures too. Good job =)
It's always fun to hang out at the surf contests - so much good energy. It makes me want to go to the beach, but I'm staying home today!
Lisa- Thanks! I did not know that you have the things to do group, now that I know I will pay more attention to posting in your group. Katerina
Georgina- I love watching surfers also, such energy and amazing talent! Our son 7 yrs, wants to take lessons. He boogie boards.
Bill- Ah, I wish I knew you were here! We could have had a meet up!
