The Aero Club is an upscale luxury Aeronautical community located in Wellington Florida. All the homes in the Aero Club are on at least one acre of land and is located just 14 miles west of the Island Of Palm Beach.
Imagine waking up in the morning to the sun rising and you see it is a clear day for a ride today. There is a 4,000 foot irrigated runway that is turfed and lighted and is 110 feet wide. The blue lights at night are so beautiful and soothing to watch. We love driving by and just stopping to observe the true beauty of the runway and the surrounding homes. The identifier is FD38 and it is a private airport for single engine planes.
There are 248 one acre+ lots in the Aero Club. Most of the lots are built on however there are still a few vacant lots left to build on. This used to be all swampland, then cow pastures, you can read the history of Wellington here. The homes range from 3,000 square feet under air to 8,000 square feet under air. Many of the homes have their own private hangars and you can even buy a home right on the runway on a road called, "Take Off". Currently there are 22 homes for sale ranging in price from the lowest being $799,999 to $ 1,899,999. These are great prices considering they were upwards of over 2 million just a year ago. Now is a great time to take advantage of the buyers' market in the Aero Club Aeronautical community in Palm Beach County in Wellington Florida.
The Aero club is near the Wellington Country Club and is close to the Polo Fields, Palm Beach Point, Southfields Equestrian Community as well as other Equestrian Communities. The Aero Club is a unique community and most people do pay cash for their homes. Should you choose to finance your home here please keep in mind and inform your mortgage broker that this is a non conforming community. Some lenders do not lend in non conforming communities but we have closed loans on homes here so we know it can be done. The reason is that this is considered an Aeronautical community and even though it is not a requirement to own a plane to live here, the community caters to the Aeronautical community, therefore it is not conforming to some lender standards.

People buy and live in the hangars? With their planes or without them? The great thing about Aero Club is that it is only for the little single engine planes that are so quiet. I was surprised how quiet they are. It is a gorgeous community and a great buy right now. Katerina

Looks like an incredible community. I live at Lake Tahoe in California and the closest airport is in Truckee, a 20 minute drive from Tahoe. I have a hanger there and completely understand how nice it would be to have a hanger at home. If you ever get out this way, flying into the Truckee Airport is a spectacular site.

Paul- I am sure it is. I love Lake Tahoe. I am a native California girl, born at Stanford University Hospital. I used to go skiing at Lake Tahoe often. My dad would take us on summer camping trips there also. Loved it. But I also found my first snake in my sleeping bag and my dad killed a HUGE rattle snake, cooked him up for dinner over the fire which I refused to eat. He was a Navy Intelligence/ Navy Seal Captain so he had learned to eat all kinds of stuff like that, yuck.
