The Aero Club in Wellington Floridais an upscale luxury Aeronautical community located in Wellington Florida. All the homes in the Aero Club are on at least one acre of land and is located just 14 miles west of the Island Of Palm Beach.
Imagine waking up in the morning to the sun rising and you see it is a clear day for a ride today. You stroll out of your large luxury estate home into your backyard hangar where your Cessna or your Piper Cherokee is parked, rearing to take you for a wonderful flight around this Aeronautical community and the rest of Wellington Florida. Of course, you chose a home on a lot that backs up to the irrigated runway. You taxi your plane right out of your own private hangar onto the runway and way you fly! As you watch the show imagine yourself getting ready to take flight.
If you are not into flying the Aero Club in Wellington Florida is still a great place to own an acre of land with a custom built home on it. We have friends who have turned their hanger into a baseball batting cage and training area for the little guys who play Little League here in Wellington Fl.
There is a 4,000 foot irrigated runway that is turfed and lighted and is 110 feet wide. The blue lights at night are so beautiful and soothing to watch. We love driving by and just stopping to observe the true beauty of the runway and the surrounding homes. The identifier is FD38 and it is a private airport for single engine planes.
There are 248 one acre+ lots in the Aero Club in Wellington Florida. Most of the lots are built on however there are still a few vacant lots left to build on. This used to be all swampland, then cow pastures, you can read the history of Wellington here. The homes range from 3,000 square feet under air to 8,000 square feet under air. Many of the homes have their own private hangars and you can even buy a home right on the runway on a road called, "Take Off". Currently there are 22 homes for sale ranging in price from the lowest being $599,999 to $ 1,899,999. These are great prices considering they were upwards of over 2 million just a few years ago. Now is a great time to take advantage of the buyers' market in the Aero Club Aeronautical community in Palm Beach County in Wellington Florida.
The Aero club is near the Wellington Country Club and is close to the Polo Fields, Palm Beach Point, Southfields Equestrian Communityas well as other Equestrian Communities. Take part in the social activities hosted by Aero Club's own private clubhouse events such as holiday parties, fly ins and fly outs and more.
The Aero Club of Wellington Florida is a unique community and most people do pay cash for their homes. Should you choose to finance your home here please keep in mind and inform your mortgage broker that this is a non conforming community. Some lenders do not lend in non conforming communities but we have closed loans on homes here so we know it can be done. The reason is that this is considered an Aeronautical community and even though it is not a requirement to own a plane to live here, the community caters to the Aeronautical community, therefore it is not conforming to some lender standards.

How cool is that to have your own airplane parked in your own house? Just makes me excited.

Few and far between. Wonder how many pilots just "drop in" for Sunday Brunch?

Isn't that like way cool???? It is an awesome sight to see. I also like to watch them fly in and out. At night it is really serene as the grassy runway is highlighted with blue lights. Katerina

I have heard of communities like this. Around here the big thing is homes with deep water docks onto the delta.

Katerina,
A lighted turf field is very rare. Beautiful tour; you're created a wonderful opportunity for pilots to "taste and see" the Aero Club in Wellington.

Katerina,
We have a Fly-in community here, and it is fascinating navigating there and see the signs for plane crossings, and watch those planes getting into the hangars, that many of the homes there have
Beautiful photos

Tim- Sorry, no cigar:) I don't like to fly in the little planes.
Jon- I did not know you had one there. We will need to get together about that then in the near future. There is a project I am working on in regards to fly in communities but too much on my plate at the moment. Need to get some more agents to take over some of our listings for us. Katerina
