The biggest mistake that most people make is that they keep doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result.

Einstein said: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

What are you doing today that are the same things you did over the past year? What behaviors do you keep repeating, what thoughts do you keep thinking? Are these actions or non-actions keeping you from reaching the next level in your business?

If thoughts proceed action and if what you think about you bring about; are you where you want to be in your business?

The economy never really is the reason people fail in business but rather it is the excuse. In every economy good or bad there are amazing opportunities surrounding every community, every town, every business, every family, every person.

In order to achieve different results we must think different thoughts and perform different actions.

Your thoughts and actions are the reason you are where you are right now in your business. The biggest obstacle for obtaining the great life is that we are far too busy living the good life. We get comfortable. But when you are too comfortable you don't grow, you don't stretch, you don't get pushed to take the risks that will catapult you into where you really desire, dream and deserve to be.

In order to make the changes in your business you must not just take different actions- you must take extraordinary actions.

If you want normal then normal you will be. But "normal" is not a safe place to be. It is covered by a mirage. The mirage masks the real danger of being just "normal".

You are created to be extraordinary. You are created to shine. You are created to multiply your talents and then pay it forward to bless the lives of others. It is beneath you to be ordinary, it is not serving you to be just "normal".

You must begin to think in extraordinary ways, really take giant leaps of faith into unknown and oftentimes scary risks for with great risk comes great reward.

You need extra horsepower, you need more thoughts in intention, you need more activity, more actions and more goals.

Only you and God know your true potential. We can not judge that for you. Only you can judge whether you are making the progress you are designed to make or you are holding back from your greatness and success.

I read in a book, " An interesting thing about success is that it's like a breath of fresh air, although the last breath of air is important, it's not nearly as important as the next one."

For me I am not happy when I know I am not striving to be all that I am destined to be. I feel great accomplishment and great success as I reach new goals, stretching to get to the next level and overcoming obstacles that get in the way of my successes. I am happiest when I am striving to reach my full potential. Anything less is not serving me, my family or my God. I feel it is my duty, my ethical duty to work consistantly to be the best that I am able to be at any given moment and then some.

I hope you dance, I hope you shine, I hope you sing a new song with new words. I hope you take massive action today and then again tomorrow.

Motherhood Is The Highest Calling

Motherhood is the most important calling given to women. Women who do not have children or who do not adopt children have many opportunities to serve as mothers in many capacities.

I was blessed with having 9 children, 6 of whom I gave natural birth to and the other 3 are my children by marriage but they are just as important to me as my own children. I am blessed to have 6 grandchildren also. This gives me even more opportunities to touch the lives of these children.

God entrusted women with this highest and most influential of all callings because mothers are the main influence of the generations. Women influence fathers because through a woman a father is born. Women influence sons for the woman gives birth to her sons. Women influence their daughters through birth. This is the one way in which all women influence the next politicians, doctors, lawyers, entrpreneurs, mothers and fathers, wives and husbands.

It is after the birth of our children that we choose to magnify our callings as mothers, or not. It is through the example we set for our children that will determine the choices they will make for the rest of their lives.

It is our choice to pick up that responsibility or to leave it to others but we must never forget whatever that choice is going to be or is- that in itself is yet an example.

This is my favorite song relating to mothers. Mothers know what to say and when to say it. Not all of of us have had ideal mothers. For those of us who have had troubled childhoods I want you to know from my own experiences that you can choose to be a great mother.

I read books on cleaning the house when I was just a teenager and I learned how to cook when I was ten years old because I dreamed my mother would bake us a cake. So I baked the cake.

I am blessed that God trusted to give me all these children. I love my children and grandchildren. I hope that my example of taken the bad things that happen, putting them into perspective, taking responsibility and making the choice NOT to be a victim, to appreciating my husband and to teach my children to ALL be contributers to society not leeches and to know that their dreams are very important, and most of all to know that God lives- I pray that this is the least that I have done for my children.

God could not be everywhere so he made mothers. ~ ancient Jewish proverb.

Speechless Sunday- Red Tomatores, I truly wish I could grow tomatoes like this. I think Lenn Harley knows how to grow tomatoes that look like these. Year after year I try here in Florida to grow tomatoes. Florida is one of the largest producers of tomatoes in the entire world. In fact, in the winter, Florida provides most of the states with this juicy red fruit all through the winters!

But this photo I took in San Francisco at the Farmers Market. These tomatoes were so red and bright. As soon as I saw them I knew it would be a vivid color photo. We did buy a bag to eat also!

Wellington Fl Baseball Ready! We Won Today- First Round in Play Offs!

Wellington Fl Baseball Ready! We won the next round in the play offs for Wellington Recreational Little League today!

It has been raining so much lately that the play off games keep getting pushed off. This also makes us in a tight time crunch as the games all have to get played. So going into the play off game today our son's team had two bys. We won today but it was a nail biter that is for sure!

Our son started out pitching even after having a fever and not feeling well yesterday. He won't let his team down. We have 4 good pitchers on our team. Strategically this is great for the play off games because one pitcher does not have to pitch more than a couple of innings keeping in the pitching count rules for Little League.

We had a very exciting day today as we were ahead but then the other team caught up to our lead. We had a few bad errors and then the other team got ahead by three runs.

We ended up at the last inning being able to tie the score! We ended up winning with three runners coming into home but of course, we only needed one run to win.

Congrats to our Astros team!!! Go boys!!! Be baseball ready for next game!

Another Wellington Short Sale CLOSED- 1134 Aviary Rd in Wellington Florida SOLD!

This property is located in the Emerald Forest subdivision in Wellington Florida. This home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a private pool and about 1,370 square feet under air and 1,808 total square feet.

This short sale was sold for $135,777 which was a pre-approved price from the short sale lender.

This property sold for ALL CASH. The buyers paid cash for this property.

In fact, the last three closings we had were ALL CASH closings on the buyers sides.

This Wellington short sale was our listing and from the date of the listing to the date of sitting at the closing table it was 215 days.

The sellers are so happy with Nestor Gasset and all he did to get this deal closed. There were two lenders to deal with on the property. The second lender wanted $15,000 to give their release and obviously the first was not going to approve that coming out of what they were going to net.

Nestor used his negotiating skills which include knowing when to use sugar and when to use vinegar. Finally the lender agreed to an additional $5000.

You Don't Know What You're Talking About!

One of our daughters, Tirzah graduated this weekend with her Master's Degree in Psychology at the age of 23 with a 3.96 GPA. Her graduation photos and post are forthcoming.

While at her Hooding Ceremony Friday night we were blessed to hear some of her professors speak giving the charge to the Master Degree graduates to move forward in faith as they begin new chapters in their lives and careers.

My favorite talk was about, " You don't know what you're talking about." I believe it is a talk we all need to hear. We are so blessed to have our daughter in a Christian University where principles of the gospel are an essential part of learning.

When you go about your daily life and plan for your future, setting your goals and creating your plans of actions you will be met with resistance and obstacles. We know we can overcome resistance and obstacles but the one obstacle that is the most difficult to beat is that of self-doubt and sabatoging behavior.

When satan whispers in your ear, " You can't do this.", "You are not good enought", "You are not worthy to reach this goal.", "You are not going to make it.", "You are stupid, crazy, fat, ugly...... or whatever word you want to put there."

Stop right where you are and say:

"You Don't Know What You Are Talking About!"

Because God does not say those things to you. God knows you can be all that he designed you to be. You can climb any mountain, you can reach any shore. You can do anything that you set your heart and mind to do with faith and steadfast believe in God. God is by your side. God will not leave you nor will he desert you.

Today I am writing those words on an index card and keeping it with me. When I begin to see myself freeze up in fear or start to sabotoge my successes I will take out that card and say, "You don't know what you're talking about." I encourage you to do the same right now.

As our daughter arrived to work Thursday morning. As I went to greet her we noticed there was a visitor at the edge of our driveway.

We went to get some bread to feed this hen who walks throughout the neighborhood. She is a little fat from all the neighbors feeding her so generously. We wanted to see how close the front door she would get. She walked all the way up to the open door!

Another West Palm Beach THE SLADE Condo Short Sale Closed!

We just closed another one of our short sale listings in the Slade Condominium in West Palm Beach with a fantastic view of the Florida Intracoastal waterways and a roof top pool!

We listed this condo for $149,777. Just imagine these units were selling in the high $300's when they were first built!

We sold this unit for ALL CASH for $143,000. The owner offered an incentive to buyers- he paid one year of HOA fees in full at closing for the buyer. HOA fees at the Slade are $850 per month.

There was one loan on this Slade condo. We had a couple of buyers that walked during the short sale proces. Each time they walked the file had to be started all over again with this particular lender. The short sale negotiations took almost four months to complete because of issues with the short sale lender, the situation of the seller and other circumstances that had to be taken care of prior to getting short sale approval.

The owner found us searching the internet for help with doing a short sale.

I was honored to be invited to speak to the NAHRAP group in Inland Empire in Rancho Cordova California.

NAHREP is the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals of which Nestor and I are also members of. I love this organization because they are great networkers. They love to help one another.

Here is the setting at the country club I was speaking at in Rancho Cordova California. Aaaaahhhhh! Those rolling foothills are so pretty. We don't see those in Florida:)

Happy Birthday Nestor Gasset- Broker at International Properties and Investments LLC

A long time ago on Active Rain, back in the day, I wrote a post called, Romancing Realtors®. It is the story of how Nestor and I met in Boca Raton at the CIPS certification courses. He was living in Katy Texas and I was living in Wellington Florida back in 1998.

Wow I just read that post again. I wrote that post in 2007. How time flies!

Today is Nestor's birthday and even though I am the one who blogs in the rain he is very much a part of that process. If it were not for his support I would not be able to do all that I do and especially not be blogging and creating tutorials for AR members here. If it were not for Nestor's support and help I would not be able to coach all these awesome agents and brokers I am privileged to coach, to do all the SEO and marketing that I do and to homeschool our little guy.

Many of you met Nestor at different raincamps we have been to and other events. He is fun to be around. He will make you laugh. He has a great sense of humor. He is gentle and loves to help train our new agents who join our company. But he also likes to go "hunting" as he calls going after the listings.

Nestor will get to spend his birthday watching our son play baseball as the assistant coach on our Little League team. That by itself is a great birthday gift. He is so supportive of our little guy and his love of baseball. Well, that is as long as the game does not get rained out.

Since I know this is going to be in Nestor's email box in the morning - HAPPY BIRTHDAY Nestor!
